MAX-AIR MAX-AIR 100 Breathing Air Compressor: Common Faults and Maintenance
MAX-AIR MAX-AIR 100 Breathing Air Compressor: Common Faults and Maintenance
MAX-AIR is an American manufacturer of high-pressure breathing air compressors. The MAX-AIR 100 is typically used for rescue and emergency response. This guide summarises its applications, typical faults and the consumables that keep it running reliably.
Common faults and diagnosis
Oil carry-over
Excess oil consumption often signals worn rings or a blocked separator element; both affect air purity and should be checked early.
Filter saturation
Clogged activated-carbon and particle filter cartridges cause pressure drop and longer fill times. Replace filter elements at the recommended interval and after any noticeable taste or odour.
Low or unstable pressure
Intermittent pressure loss often traces to an intake restriction or a sticking check valve rather than the pump itself.
Compatible consumables
We supply generic, compatible consumables for the MAX-AIR MAX-AIR 100, including breathing-air compressor lubricating oil and breathing filter cartridges (activated-carbon and particle stages). These are aftermarket replacement parts; we are not affiliated with MAX-AIR and do not represent the original manufacturer.
